Logo Creation, Market Research, Competitor Analysis, & Mock-ups. Lavell Mountain Insurance, a start-up insurance company, found themselves in need of a logo informed by existing target markets, competitors, and business owner values. Corporate and local competitors were first identified, and reoccurring patterns were observed that made for initial logo inspiration.

Competitor mission, key words, roles, service location reach, and what each competitor was doing well were initially identified. Four style tiles were then developed to create initial direction that was eventually narrowed to final logo outcome and logo guidelines, with graphic, type, color, logo layout, and business alignment, taken into consideration to inform design outcomes.
The above graphics demonstrate parts of project process, involving varying style tile directions that resonated with insurance start-up mission and messaging. A direction based on best thematic style tile "feel" was chosen, and narrowed to the final design, displayed below:
